چکیده

Land use, land cover (LULC) change technique is essential for measuring ecological quality, environmental sustainability, and uncontrolled development at various spatiotemporal scales. To construct effective use management plans, the probable future scenario of LULC changes can be easily detected utilizing a simulation technique. This study monitors models land-use in Okomu National Park over two decades (2000 – 2020) to project forest near future. A probabilistic cellular automata (CA) model was created used simulate with aim predicting scenarios. Landsat7 ETM+ satellite images years 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020 were classified into Forest Non–Forest using maximum likelihood supervised classification algorithm. Moore’s neighborhood Von Neumann extension year 2000 as base year. The overall accuracy under 98.18%, 97.52%, 96.33%, 91.67%, 94.61%with kappa coefficients 0.97, 0.96, 0.95, 0.86, 0.91 respectively. State transition probabilities 2000–2005, 2005–2010, 2010–2015, 2015–2020 calculated from images. Simulation accuracywas 77.46%, 74.1%, 70.98%, 78.27% Projections made 2025 2030 it shows 27.41% decline by anda 29.90% 2030.The amount actual simulated gradual drop 185.15 km2 136.07 135.30 2020, respectively.Spatial models, which provide scientific basis supporting sustainable based on different scenarios alsocontribute significantly implementation framework United Nations' Reducing Emissions Deforestation Degradation (REDD/REDD+) program, well reference REDD/REDD+ incentive payments.

Modelling Land Use Land Cover Changes Using Cellular Automata in a Geo-spatial Environment

. Model is an abstraction or simplification of real world. From early days of our childhood we learn (subconsciously) from models and play with models. Playing with guns, cars and dolls, making houses with sands, are some of the examples, which we never realize in our daily life. Models are being used as a very powerful learning tool. They are not only static like road maps but they can be dyna...

Detection and prediction of land use/ land cover changes using Markov chain model and Cellular Automata (CA-Markov), (Case study: Darab plain)

unprincipled changes in land use are major challenges for many countries and different regions of the world, which in turn have devastating effects on natural resources, Therefore, the study of land-use changes has a fundamental and important role for environmental studies. The purpose of this study is to detect and predicting of land use/ land cover (LULC) changes in Darab plain through the Ma...

Integrating cellular automata Markov model to simulate future land use change of a tropical basin

Predicting land use change is an indispensable aspect in identifying the best development and management of land resources and their potential. This study used certified land-use maps of 1997, 2006, and 2015 combined with ancillary data such as road networks, water bodies and slopes, obtained from the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Surveying and Mapping in Malaysia, respectivel...

The Politics of Land Use in the Korup National Park

Recently, the call to combine land change science (LCS) and political ecology (PE) in the study of human-environment interactions has been widely discussed by scientists from both subfields of geography. In this paper, we use a hybrid ecology framework to examine the effects of conservation policies on the environment and the livelihood of the people of the Korup National Park (KNP). Using tech...
